Yes, It is that time of year again... SPRING CLEANING! And if you are a PNW resident and stuck inside from literally the wettest winter and spring on record, I think you have ran out of excuses- In fact you may have cleaned your house several times out of sheer need to occupy one's self.
This is my goal: Find one place in my house at a time and change it. This way I am not driving myself mad trying to tackle a house full of kids and junk all at once. So this is the corner I created recently. I went to the Goodwill and popped some tags (thank you fellow Seattlelite Maklemore for coining this phrase) This chair was $5.00- I sanded it, slapped a coat of white spray paint on it, waited for it to dry and distressed it. The jug- also from the Will. $1.00, I think I might spray paint it white or robins egg blue eventually.
What is the purpose of this? You may ask. Well all those books on that chair.. Those are books that people have recommended to me or handed off to me to borrow. This is my reading list library book shelf. I love it! everything organized and where I need it to be. It looks great and it is very inviting. This little mini purposeful book shelf/chair is at the top of my stairs and next to my room. Let's be honest folks- it also doubles as a time out chair BOOM! Muti-purpose, clever, and visually pleasing.
Want to do this yourself? Go thrifting, it is worth it!!! total amount spent
Chair: $5
Jug: $1
Paint and sanding suplies $4
Total hours: less then 1 (quick dry paint)
