To say that I adore this family would be a gross understatement. Of course we are related, but the reality is that this family is so wonderful and to know them is a blessing. Our family went up to visit not too long ago. As always I had my camera with me and noticed empty frames in their house... I quickly offered to remedy that. So Theresa and I were off rummaging through clothes to put together an impromptu photo shoot. I dressed the kids and she got everyone packed up. We were off to a location that I had never seen before and I was just hoping that I could get some sunset light leaks. We arrived at the gardens and I was enchanted. The kids (mine included) got to run around and play. When we could, we wrangeled them in for formal shots, those were few and far between. I love how I was able to chase them and create fun pictures for their walls. There were moments when the sun rays leaked through the trees as if we were in a gorgeous Victorian novel and those were the moments we seized. Simply breath taking watching Theresa and Joe interact with there babies.
Now a little about each member of this family, Joe works for Chase as a financial planner. He is passionate about getting people on the right track. What I love about Joe is that to him it is not about money, it is about the person, their goals and giving them the tools to achieve those goals. He is a Star Wars enthusiast and has schooled his kids in the complexity that is Star Wars. Joe and my husband are always goofing around when we are together. I am so glad that Joe is a part of our family, he makes us all laugh. Joe is a dynamic father. He is always playing with the kids and loving on them. He loves to make his kids laugh!
Theresa is a domestic violence victim’s advocate for the city of Seattle. She works tirelessly to protect men and women in dangerous and life threatening situations. I have heard her shed tears, pray and worry about her victims. This is not a job, this is a calling. She is someone that no matter where she goes in her life, she will always be fighting to end domestic violence. Her children are deeply cherished by her, they resemble all that is good in the world. I have deep admiration for the work that she does. I have no doubt that she will leave her mark on the world and dramatically change the way we think about domestic violence and those it affects.
Lady A (not her real name but what I like to call her) is a dynamic little girl, she starts kindergarten in the fall and I have no doubt she will soar. She has a strong spirit in her, and LOVES life. She is a little shy at first, but once she gets to know you I am not sure you can keep her quiet! She laughs all the time and loves her family. I always have a good time when I am around her!
Little C (again, not his real name) Oh my this guy. Those baby blues, those cheeks. This boy will be two this month; I cannot believe this time has flown by. He is a strong boy, who already shows enthusiasm for sports. Little C can throw a baseball and kick a soccer ball. He has a large vocabulary and is not afraid to use it. If there is not a smile on his face there will be a look of determination.
I love spending time with this family- Enjoy this impromptu session of the Phillips Family.
Thank you Phillips Family for all that you do! You are all a treasure, it is an honor doing life with you four!
